USD 204 Bonner Springs School Board Issues
After traveling to 6 other countries and defending this Republic it’s time to push our children to be smarter than We The Parents.
Geography
Although 80% of Americans do not have a passport, that does not mean our kids cannot travel in the classroom. By studying other countries, we can teach them how great we have it and how we can make other countries better, by being the best. Leaders lead from the front!
- Study one country per Semester. Minus USA and Antarctica
- What’s their culture like? Currency, food, language, history, current government, etc.
- What is their status with the USA? Alliance, Axis of Evil or neutral?
American Civics
Constitutional Republic; what does that even mean? The Declaration of Independence is FOUR pages long and the Constitution is 9 pages long, 7 Articles; yet 99% of High School graduates have never read it. Not Bonner Springs, we lead from the front and will know why we are a republic and not a democracy.
- Study our founding document, the Declaration of Independence and study why it happened and what those precise words mean. Why did 33 year-old Jefferson try to free the slaves (including his) in the first rough draft?
- Study our framing document, the Constitution and the 800-page book “Madison’s Notes.” What are each and why does it have 7 Articles?
- Why did the Articles of Confederation fail? Why are the Bill of Rights negative liberties? What did the Civil War Confederate Constitution even say?
Technical Classes
As a certified Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram Mechanic, son of Union Boiler Operator and grandson of a Union Teamsters Truck Driver; a lot of high paying jobs out there do not require a four-year degree and are critical to our economy. It’s time to find our kids that blue collar job that way they are more than trained on the basics when they receive their high school diploma.
- Find a technical class that each student is interested in, Blue Collar jobs build true character!
- Reduce outside contract spending and rely more on internal volunteer costs, reducing your taxes and giving our kids talents for their first job!
- Bonner Pride, Make Bonner better than Blue Valley! Follow the leadership that Booker T. Washington taught his Tuskegee students!
